Tortillas are the vital element that unites all Mexicans and have always been inextricably linked with mexican traditions. It is unclear when tortillas were introduced into the mexican cuisine, however there is a word (Tlaxcalli) in the Aztec language Nahuatl that means tortilla.

In that same language Nantli means mother, like mother earth from which we obtain corn, the “yellow gold” as the Aztecs called it. That is why the name Nantli is so important to us.
